Why don’t some areas have regular appraisals?


The University’s following recent quote highlights the importance of regular appraisals.

“The appraisal is the time to consider the support and development required to improve and grow in the role and also to consider the development required for being role ready for the next employment opportunity.”

Unfortunately there are various sections within the University that do not have regular appraisals, why is this?


Thank you for your question.  It is disappointing to hear that there may be areas that do not have regular appraisals, however, the University remains committed to regular appraisals for all staff, with participation levels discussed at the quarterly business review meetings between executive and FMT/SMTs.

If you are not participating in an appraisal on a twice yearly basis then please raise this with your relevant Dean or Director.
