Higher Apprenticeship and Degree Apprenticeships offer a work-based learning programme that leads to a qualification at Levels 4 and 5 (University Foundation Degree), Level 6 (Bachelor’s Degree) and up to Level 7 (Masters Degree).
Learners study a combination of knowledge and competency based qualifications which lead to an approved apprenticeship. Apprentices are in paid work from day one – giving them a head start in their chosen profession.
Employers use Higher and Degree Apprenticeship programmes to develop managers, fill higher level skills gaps and increase productivity.
Investing in higher and degree apprentices can significantly benefit a business in a number of ways:
- Increase productivity
- Improve business performance
- Reduce recruitment costs
- Fill higher-level skills gaps
- Motivate, upskill and better qualify the workforce
- Manage the talent pipeline
In the last academic year over 9,000 people studied a Higher Apprenticeship and it is estimated that over 80% of apprentices remain with their employer after completing an apprenticeship.
