I am a Lecturer in Psychology at Staffordshire University based in Stoke-on-Trent, England. I am a Chartered Psychologist with the British Psychological Society, a member of the Centre for Health Psychology and I co-direct the Staffordshire Centre for Psychological Research.
My research interests sit across Clinical and Health Psychology and my research tends to take an individual differences approach, although I am engaged in more qualitative studies and mixed methods research. I enjoy working with researchers from various academic disciplines (e.g., clinical psychologists, sociologists, public health researchers), service-users and individuals with “lived experience” of health conditions, as well as supervising postgraduate research students. I believe in working in a positive and constructive manner with my colleagues, irrespective of their academic status as Professors or students, and I make it a rule of continuing to work with those individuals who I enjoy working with.
