What to pack for student accommodation!

Last summer, I spent days slaving over a list to make sure I had absolutely everything I need for my move to university halls. And come September… yep; I still forgot stuff. Naturally, there’s gonna be things that you don’t even consider needing, until you do! So here’s a quick list of things you might have missed…

Kitchen:-

  • Cutlery (up to 4 sets).
  • Plates (up to 4 of each size).
  • Bowls (up to 4).
  • Cups/Mugs.
  • Shot glasses.
  • Cutting boards (one for meat, one for veg).
  • Sharp knives.
  • Mixing bowl.
  • Wooden spoon/spatula/fish slice.
  • Kitchen scissors.
  • Tin opener.
  • Baking trays of varying sizes.
  • Ice cube tray.
  • Cheese grater.
  • Recipes.
  • Bottle opener.
  • Sieve.
  • Colander.
  • Plastic tubs.
  • Washing up liquid.
  • Cling film.
  • Foil.
  • First aid kit.
  • Bin bags.

Bathroom-

  • Toothbrush.
  • Toothpaste.
  • Hair products.
  • Air freshener.
  • Shampoo.
  • Soap/body wash.
  • Razor/shaving products.
  • Toilet paper.
  • Sanitary products.
  • Contraception.
  • Moisturiser.
  • Makeup.

Bedroom-

  • Bedding.
  • Storage boxes (to go under the beds if there’s space).
  • Stationery.
  • Calendar.
  • Books/comics.
  • DVDs.
  • Games.
  • Spare sheets.
  • Notebook.
  • Bag.
  • Chargers.
  • Laptop.
  • Phone.
  • Music player.
  • Uni map.
  • Banking information.
  • Passport.

  • Uni acceptance information.
  • Credit/debit card(s).
  • Money.
  • Mini safe.

Clothing-

  • Underwear.
  • Socks.
  • Pyjamas.
  • Swimwear.
  • Onesie/lazy day clothes.
  • Gym clothes.
  • A selection of casual shirts/t-shirts.
  • A selection of casual trousers/jeans/skirts.
  • Up to five smarter outfits.
  • Up to five pairs of shoes.
  • A couple of dresses.
  • Jumpers.
  • Jackets.
  • A fancy dress costume or two!
