Community Action Network

The University Quarter Community Action Network work together to make sure that Shelton area is a great place for people to live, study, work and visit.
We use our combined resources to affect positive change
for the benefit of the whole community of the University Quarter of Shelton.

This is an asset based community development approach in action.

COMMUNITY CONSULTATIONWhen we started we had task groups, to enable us to take focussed action on the priorities in the Community Plan. The task groups were:

  • Environment and Community Safety
  • Volunteering
  • Community Learning
  • Business support and engagement

The task groups set up projects including an annual Big Book Picnic in Hanley Park, Community Action Days, Mentoring schemes with students of different ages supporting each other and a Green Route. To find out more please click on the links.
