Available at levels 4-7, Higher Apprenticeships offer a range of flexible qualifications. The opportunity to work alongside trained staff, gain specific job skills and study towards a university-led qualification provides a great boost to learners and employers.
The cost of the course fee is shared between the government and employers, depending on the route and course. The government will invest between 50% and 66% of course fees and the employer tops up the remaining amount, enabling the apprentice to gain their qualification without paying fees.
Information for Employers
At Staffordshire University our Higher Apprenticeships have been developed in collaboration with leading employers to ensure that the apprentices can fulfil the requirements of demanding roles alongside developing their knowledge and skills. The government is providing generous financial support for participating companies (this will be replaced by the apprenticeship levy in April 2017).
Information for Learners
To study a Higher Apprenticeship a learner must currently be in employment with or due to be employed by an organisation which is willing to support them financially in return for a commitment to professional development within the organisation. Staffordshire University may be able to support learners to identify a suitable organisation.
