Photo marathon and family activity day

Using the Burslem Tile Trail, amateurs, professional photographers and complete beginners explored the Mother Town of the potteries, photographing the beautiful tiles and terracotta found in the Wedgwood Institute and other buildings.

  • “In conversation” discussions between Alan Swale (Tiles and Architectural Ceramics Society), Jaume Coll Conesa (Spanish National Museum of Ceramics), Sarah Richardson (UKHBPT) and Danny Callaghan (Ceramic City Stories)
  • Squeeze, squish, scrape and sculpt – zodiac sculptures created in clay – inspired by the Wedgwood Institute, with Jo Ayre from the British Ceramics Biennial
  • Information about about the Ceramic City Stories project and our partners in Cabanyal-Canyamelar, Spain with Danny Callaghan, Artist and Heritage Activist
  • Practical photography workshop with John Snowdon, photographer and Photojournalism Lecturer, Staffordshire University
  • Consultation on plans for the Wedgwood Institute. Visit the double height room on the first floor with Sarah Richardson from UKHBPT
  • Photographing the tile trail with the Photographers Collective!
