{"id":1196,"date":"2019-11-06T13:00:31","date_gmt":"2019-11-06T13:00:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.staffs.ac.uk\/ecw\/?p=1196"},"modified":"2019-11-06T13:00:38","modified_gmt":"2019-11-06T13:00:38","slug":"english-and-creative-writing-students-share-award","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.staffs.ac.uk\/ecw\/2019\/11\/06\/english-and-creative-writing-students-share-award\/","title":{"rendered":"English and Creative Writing Students share award"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>English and Creative Writing were really proud to contribute to Stoke&#8217;s Big Read, with the <em>Stoke Sentinel <\/em>sending books to every year 7 in the city to encourage reading and promote literacy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Students from Cartoon and Comic Arts produced an amazing book of illustrations of their own favourite younger reads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.staffs.ac.uk\/ecw\/files\/2019\/11\/cartoons-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1197\" width=\"352\" height=\"266\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Romisa and Jordan put on a Creative Writing Master Class for all the pupils who attended the prize giving at Staffs Uni.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The team which put together the Big Read received a Staff Achievement Award for community engagement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.staffs.ac.uk\/ecw\/files\/2019\/11\/Connected-Communities-Winner-1024x656.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1200\" width=\"281\" height=\"182\" \/><figcaption>Mark, Gareth, Maria and Helen receive the award for Connected Communities<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Here are Romisa and Jordan receiving their vouchers.
