One of our second year students Kudakwashe Phiri was hand-picked for\na paid internship with a media company, before she\u2019d even finished the first\nyear. She has just had her first article published in the commercial sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Her ongoing internship for a media company in the fertility\nniche, includes researching articles on law and medical issues, writing book\nreviews and scientific articles, and even appearing on the company\u2019s Tiktok\naccount. You can read one of Kuda\u2019s book reviews here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-wordpress wp-block-embed is-type-wp-embed is-provider-best-fertility-now\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\nhttps:\/\/www.bestfertility-now.com\/baby-dreams-by-louise-warneford-review\/\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Kuda was talent-spotted in class by a fellow student who\nalso works for the company because of her thorough preparation for lectures and\nteamwork ethic. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kuda said: \u201cI thought I would be working a normal job\nthrough university, but this is bringing me straight into the industry. It\u2019s\njust a few hours a week, but it\u2019s paid and I am learning how to write for the\ncommercial market. It works really well with my studies, and I can translate\nthe skills I learn in the classroom directly to a work environment.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The company, Best Fertility Now, is a startup led by a\nformer BBC journalist. The fertility niche is a rapidly expanding market, and a\ncombination of lifestyle, medical and technical knowledge is needed to navigate\nit. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The CEO of the company said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cKuda is a fantastic addition to the team, and I\u2019m really\nlooking forward to seeing how she develops as a writer.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kuda\u2019s love of writing and literature clearly runs in the\nfamily as her mother, Edna, also received a degree in English from us just 2 years\nago. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Course leader, Mark Brown, said: \u201cwe always encourage our students to get their writing out there and get real-world experience.
