Generation Lost In Satellites<\/strong><\/p>\n We are the generation We\u2019re restless. We are the restless generation. We\u2019re just sat on this We\u2019re restless. We are the restless generation. But that\u2019s not entirely true…<\/p>\n Now we face a new foe, Now we have a war to fight, This time there are no evacuees, Although the industries have been revolutionised, But we are just the generation What do we know? \nthat got lost in satellites.
\nCaring more about comments
\non our social media than the fact
\nthat an empty packet of
\ncrisps can kill the environment.<\/p>\n
\nWe have no wars to fight,
\nStonewall has been rioted.
\nWomen got the vote.
\nThe Bastille has been stormed.<\/p>\n
\nWe have nothing to do.
\nThere\u2019s nothing left for us to do.<\/p>\n
\nfloating rock, drifting in an infinite
\nloop until the sun expands
\nand we all burn.<\/p>\n
\nThere are no new worlds left to conquer,
\nEverest has been climbed.
\nSlavery was abolished.
\nThere are footprints on the moon.<\/p>\n
\nWe have nothing to do.
\nThere\u2019s nothing left for us to do.<\/p>\n
\na new enemy to be vanquished.<\/p>\n
\none we fight together.
\nWith doctors and nurses on the front line,
\nwhile everyone else is told
\nto stay inside.<\/p>\n
\nno bomb shelters to hide in,
\nno air raid sirens to listen out for.<\/p>\n
\nthere is still lots of work to do.
\nwith new vaccines, a ray of hope,
\na light at the end of the tunnel.<\/p>\n
\nthat got lost in satellites.
\nWho cares more about comments
\non our social media than
\nwhether or not we
\nshould say please and thank you.<\/p>\n
\nWith the world on pause,
\nand the stock market a minute away from crashing,
\nthe queue to the jobcentre is
\nlonger than the list of jobs available.<\/p>\n
\nthat got lost in satellites,
\nwhat do we know?<\/p>\n
\naround diet plans and phone updates,
\nwhere nobody can say what
\nthey mean in fear of offence.<\/p>\n
\nthat got lost in satellites.
\nWho cares more about comments
\non our social media than
\nwhether or not we meet
\nwith people outside in real life.<\/p>\n
