Fringe Festival work closely with partner organsations to support the local community and creative development in Stoke on Trent.
Hot Air is a Literary Festival for Stoke on Trent, held at the Emma Bridgewater Factory on Lichfield Street – it started in 2014.
In 2016 takes place on the 9th 10th and 11th June. Staffordshire University is a sponsor of the Festival. University lecturer Catherine Burgass will be in conversation with Lisa Blower on her debut novel Sitting Ducks on the 11th June at 3pm.
AirSpace Gallery is a collaborative, artist led project in Stoke-on-Trent, providing professional development opportunities, studio and exhibiting space and support for artists.
AirSpace and the Creative Communities Unit 12th Community Night Walk is on the 7th June.
The University Quarter partners are Staffordshire University, Stoke on Trent City Council, Stoke on Trent College and Stoke Sixth Form College. The University Quarter Community Action Network is hosting the Community Open Day Finale on the 11th June and the Big Book Swap Picnic on the 12th June.
Hanley Park is a very important community asset for resident of Shelton and the wider North Staffs area. Staffs Fringe 2014 and 2015 featured the Big Lunch, Park Live! and Photo Walk in Hanley Park and ended with the Fantastic Fringe Finale parade which started in the park.
This year we are starting the Community Night Walk on the 7th June in Hanley Park and the Big Book Swap Picnic is in the park on the 12th June.
1000 Lives Community Champions Network for Stoke on Trent brings together volunteers and people who are actively involved in taking action to improve wellbeing their community. Network members share experience, knowledge, ideas, support and resources for mutual benefit. Anyone can join and it’s free.
1000 Lives is our community partner for our Volunteers week 2016 event on the 7th June and the Big Book Swap Picnic on the 12th June.
B Arts are our long-standing Fringe Festival partner and they have worked with us since the first Fringe in 2012 to run workshops in Shelton before Fringe and lead the community parade which started the Fantastic Fringe Finale. This year B Arts are coordinating the Etruria Canals Festival on the 4th and 5th June, which we are proud to support.
Staffs Fringe celebrates the Festival of Adult Learning and Volunteers Week with Stoke Psychology in the Pub, the 1000 Lives Community Learning Festival, Community Night Walk, Community Open Day, Big Book Swap Picnic and Tuneful Tuesday Sing Well workshop.
