ABLE – LLP LDV Partnership Project

So, I’m part of a 2 year Trans-European Leonardo Mobility Project:

“ABLE Activity Based Learning and Entertainment:
Lifelong Learning Challenges in the Digital Age”

Which means I’m sat in a hotel room in Vasto, Italy watching Grey’s Anatomy dubbed in Italian, reflecting on an interesting few days.

As this is the first European project Bobbie and I have been involved in, we didn’t really know what to expect – we were just glad we weren’t the first to host anything. We will host our new friends, but that’s in May next year and we’ll be old hands by then – hopefully.

As it’s a Leonardo project, it’s a mix of education institutes, private training facilities and other companies. There’s Portaguese from Evora University, an austrian, some Polish, the Italians – and then there are the Turkish. A Group from Adana, another from Tokat and a 3rd from Van – i haven’t quite worked out what they all do yet. There’s lots of them, many with mustaches but they all seem nice. There are also some Bulgarians on the project, but they couldn’t make this one so we haven’t met them yet..

Since we’re looking at Life Long Learning, and distance learning, we’re going to jointly produce some newsletters on best practice in our countries on the following topics (there may be some more, it’s a very long document):

  • E – Learning
  • Vocational Training through E-Learing
  • Games & ICT for training
  • Disability and E-learning

At the end we will produce an E-Book of best practice principals, but that’s not till 2013, so that’s plenty of time. Until then, and until we have the address of the project website and a list of other exciting places to visit..
