How we recognise participation in Student Erasmus Mobility.
Staffordshire University accepts that satisfactorily completed activities undertaken through the Learning Agreement will count towards a student’s degree. The University requires each European partner institution to provide a transcript within five weeks of completion of the student’s studies, setting out the title of the module, the local mark awarded and the number of ECTS credits.
The credits and marks will be recorded on the Higher Education Achievement Record (HEAR) – incorporating the Diploma Supplement – issued to each student.
We will provide the same information for incoming mobility students and within the same 5 week time frame.
The academic credit system and how we ensure that your time abroad is part of your degree.
Staffordshire University utilises the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS), 2 Staffordshire University Credits = 1 ECTS credit. Students are advised to undertake the following number of credits during their Erasmus student exchange: 1 Academic year = 60 ECTS; 1 Semester = 30 ECTS. Students undertaking an Erasmus Study Exchange are required to have a Learning Agreement approved by both the appropriate Faculty of Staffordshire University and the host European university.
The credits and marks awarded by the European university will be transferred back to Staffordshire and will form an integral part of the student’s degree. Given the different marking systems in place at our European partner universities, the conversion of marks requires the professional judgement of academic staff. The credits and marks will be recorded on the Higher Education Achievement Record (HEAR) – incorporating the Diploma Supplement – issued to each student.
