Benefits of Postgraduate Study with Staffordshire University

* Subject to course applied for and your eligibility. More details about postgraduate loans can be found here: https://www.gov.uk/funding-for-postgraduate-study.

Step by Step Guide to PG Apply

  1. Check your course is eligible for the fast-track route – this option applies for courses where applications are made directly to the University using our online application form (there will be an “apply link” on the course webpage which takes you to E:vision). This option cannot be used for PGCE and full-time applications for legal practice courses for example. Please get in touch if you have any questions.

  1. Email PGApply@staffs.ac.uk with the following information:
  • Your full name
  • Your 8-digit student reference number (found on the front of your student ID card)
  • A personal email address (not your Staffordshire University email address)
  • Details about the course you wish to study and your preferred study options if applicable e.g. part-time or full-time, on campus or distance learning

  1. We may need additional information to support your application, particularly if your undergraduate degree is not directly related to your chosen area of postgraduate study or you are applying for a research-based course or a course involving negotiated study. If we need any additional information, we will contact you by email or you can include extra detail with your original email.

  1. For some courses, you will be invited for an interview or course tutors will make contact for an informal discussion.

  1. Keep an eye on your inbox for an offer email – for most courses, you will receive a conditional offer within a couple of days. This will require you to achieve a specific result in your degree e.g. 2.1 or 2.2. There may be additional course-specific criteria e.g. occupational health checks. You may also need to complete a more detailed research proposal.

  1. Once your degree result is confirmed and you’ve met all the requirements of your conditional offer, we will update your offer to unconditional and you can prepare for continuing your studies.

  1. If you don’t meet all the offer conditions, your application will be reviewed on an individual basis. You may still be accepted onto the course. If that’s not possible, we will discuss alternative study options with you and you may be offered a place on a different but related course.
