The successful applicants will be employed to deliver the services across primary schools and wider community in Staffordshire. Including the PE curriculum and health and wellbeing workshops to families. The position also includes the opportunity to deliver sport and physical activity sessions to children on our school holiday camps. Manage community projects (dependant on experience). Golf Activator Course

Staffordshire University have teamed up with England Golf to deliver a Golf Activator Course, to provide you with the skills and knowledge to deliver introductory Golf Activity within a variety of settings.

An interactive & practical session for coaches and volunteers who support the delivery of golf activity in a variety of settings. ‘Discover your role in enhancing the overall player experience.’

BOCCIA COACHING AWARD

Course Date and Time: Saturday 4th December 2021 from 11,00am -2.00pm

Are you interested in expanding your coaching knowledge, understanding and delivery in Boccia. If the answer is yes. Then we have an exciting opportunity for you to get involved in where you will not only gain Boccia Leaders Award to help you on your coaching journey but also have the opportunity to gain valuable experience delivering Boccia within the community and local SEN/mainstream schools in the area. 

I have five free places available for Staffordshire University students who have a keen interest in this area and are willing to give up an hour of their time per week (up until April), to delivery as a group, within local schools in the area. 

The Boccia Leaders Award features both officiating and coaching boccia. Attendees will learn the basic rules of the sport and how to apply them in a game setting. The coaching element of the workshop introduces attendees to the importance of being a good leader, how to design and adapt boccia activities. Throughout the workshop, attendees will be given the tools to introduce boccia to their clubs and groups while motivating participants to get involved in the sport.

This workshop is a first look at the sport and designed for those with little or no knowledge of boccia. Those who are currently volunteering at boccia clubs but have no formal qualifications will find this workshop to be a great way to refresh and confirm knowledge while providing the skills to progress onto the coaching or officiating qualification pathways.

The Boccia Leaders Award covers the following topics: –

  • Boccia basics – An introduction to the sport
  • Officiating a game – A look at the rules and how to apply them
  • Boccia players – An overview of disability awareness and classification
  • Coaching boccia – An introduction to creating skills and practices for boccia.

TARGET AUDIENCE

 The course is suitable for school students, teachers, community workers, leaders and individual players including those involved with:

LTA TENNIS ACTIVATOR & CARDIO TENNIS COACHING COURSE

The course is due to take place on Friday 12th November 2021 from 9.00am -1.00pm at Staffordshire Universities -Sir Stanley Matthews Sports Centre.

This exciting role will lead the Staffordshire FA’s Communication functions, working across the business to implement and enhance all of our communications including websites, social media, internal and external publications as well as ensuring the branding and image of the Staffordshire FA is maintained to a high level. 

The role will support all key areas of the Staffordshire FA Business Strategy ‘Uniting the Knot’ and all Football Services Staff with their roles, managing a complex communications programme to maximise opportunities, enhance our image and support our work to create new and exciting partnerships.

Role Purpose

• To support delivery of The FA National Game Strategy and the Staffordshire FA Business Strategy.
• To lead the development, implementation and review of all Staffordshire FA marketing and communications functions.
• To enhance the image, profile and reputation of the Staffordshire FA. 
• To contribute to the effective implementation of The FA’s Safeguarding Operating Standard for County FAs.
• To support the adoption of FA technology systems across grassroots football.  
• To comply with FA rules, regulations, policies, procedures and guidance that are in place from time to time.

The key work areas include:

• Maintain control over the Staffordshire FA brand. Ensure the brand is modern and relevant.
• Provide local communications support to dedicated FA campaigns.
• Manage the Staffordshire FA website and social media accounts ensuring that they remain a central resource for the dissemination of information to all stakeholders.
• Lead all communication channels for the Active Through Football Programme (Stoke on Trent). 
• Develop links within the local media to ensure that there is regular coverage of the Staffordshire FA.
• Co-ordinate the publication of the Staffordshire FA printed material including weekly, monthly and annual publications.
• Maintain a picture library and a record of all published articles.
• Support a programme of public events, particularly County Cup finals, CPD events, Referee Courses.
• Lead and administer the Staffordshire FA annual awards programmes including Long Service and Community Awards.
• Review the Staffordshire FA branding and visual imagery ensuring consistency across all media.   
• Review the Staffordshire FA external/ internal publications. Ensure consistency of message, maximise efficiency. 
• Expertly and effectively manage incoming media requests. Proactively protect and promote the reputation of the Staffordshire FA within the media.
• Ensure all communications via social media with under-18s are in line with the safeguarding policies.

Applicants will be expected to have experience of managing communication functions and be able to work to multiple priorities, meeting key deadlines and providing exemplary customer service. Experience of working in a communications role is essential as well as experience in working with internal and external teams to manage strategic programmes. FA Level 1 in Coaching Futsal

The FA Level 1 in Coaching Futsal is a vocational course that provides you with an opportunity to develop an awareness of both the practical and theoretical aspects of Futsal coaching.

You will gain an insight into the game in England, how it is played and how you can coach to better support the development of future players.

LTA Secondary School and Cardio Tennis Course

Tennis is a great game at any level. But the more you advance, the more challenging and rewarding it becomes.

Staffordshire University has teamed up with the LTA to provide high quality, focused training for FE  and HE students, as well as teachers to inspire and stimulate every young person by deliverig innovative formats of the game, including Cardio Tennis, Timed Tennis and Team Tennis. 

The LTA Secondary School and Cardio Tennis course has been developed to give you the confidence and skills you need to deliver both traditional and modified versions of the game as well as being provided with valuable resources to enhance your deliver, within the local community and a school environment.

Handball 

England Handball has launched its new Handball Activator course for people who want to take handball into schools, colleges or the wider community.

Participants who complete the course will be able to use handball to increase activity, and improve well-being.

The course takes participants through Try Handball as a mechanism to deliver community handball. Try Handball is England Handball’s small-sided version of the game. It can be played in pretty much any available space and is designed for people new to handball.

Dodgeball: 

t is our belief at British Dodgeball that the training we provide will enable coaches and those working with groups to empower people from all different walks of life to be healthy, active and enjoy the full benefits of sport and physical activity.

This Award not only provides candidates with a knowledge of the sport, but also on how to work with different participants, how to be inclusive and provides an understanding of the importance of a positive well-being, improving self-esteem and taking part.
