? Role & Responsibilities:

✔️ Deliver PE/School Sport lessons within the primary school sector across breakfast, lunch, after school and curriculum.
✔️ Complete all planning & assessment requirements for delivery of curriculum based lessons via our online portal system.
✔️ Commit to the etiquette and high standards of behaviour that our staff consistently display in the school environment.
✔️ To build and sustain strong relationships with working colleagues, teachers at our associated schools and the children that you engage.

? Qualifications & Capabilities:

✔️ Previous experience in delivering within the primary school sector is desirable.
✔️ NGB badges to a minimum of Level 1 in a number of sports and level 2 are desirable. An NCPE Level 2/3 would be additionally desired although not a necessity.
✔️ An understanding the NCPE across both Key Stages.
✔️ Comfortable with computer-based requirements and able to show good literacy skills.
✔️ An excellent communicator who is able to effectively engage with both children and adults.
✔️ A committed and ambitious individual who is able to display punctuality and professionalism in equal measure.
✔️ Full UK Driving Licence.

Level 2 Qualification in Sports Leadership (February Half-Term)

The Level 2 Qualification in  Sports Leadership is a nationally recognised qualification that enables successful learners to lead groups of people in sport/activity, under indirect supervision.

The qualification teaches generic leadership skills such as organisation, planning, communication and teamwork through the medium of sport within the community. It is a fun and practical qualification with no entrance requirements or final examinations to sit.

Dates: Monday 19th February to Friday 23rd February 2018

Time: 9.30-4pm each day

Location: Fenton Manor Sports Complex, Stoke-on-Trent

Sports Structures: Coaching Games for Understanding workshop

Who is the workshop for?

The workshop is aimed at coaches aged 17 years of age and above who hold or are working towards a level 2 coaching qualification or recognised equivalent. Learners can also be on a PGCE pathway, a qualified teacher or an undergraduate on a sports degree.

 

Learners who are or are intending to coach invasion, net and wall and striking and fielding games, will find this workshop beneficial.

  • 18th November in Sheffield
  • 26th November in Birmingham
  • 10th December in Manchester

Sport and Physical Activity at the YMCA

An organisation called ASHA North Staffordshire, which is a group which was set up in 2006 by Godefroid Seminega (from Rwanda) to support asylum seekers from the Great Lakes region of Africa but today it greets people fleeing persecution, civil conflict, war and sexual violence from all over the world. There is an expected 1000 asylum seekers displaced to Stoke on Trent many with no support mechanisms available apart from this charity.

The charity currently run a football session at the YMCA in Stoke on a Saturday 11am-12.30pm and are looking for people to help and support the activity. There are also opportunities to deliver other activities if you are willing and able too.

Alongside your course, you are encouraged to complete national governing body (NGB) coaching qualifications to improve your employability prospects whilst at university, preparing you for you future career and progression into industry. Here at Staffordshire University, we have a range of NGB course at significantly reduced costs to ensure that you the opportunity to undertake courses that will enable you to reach your potential; these reduced cost courses are often 50%+ less than what it would cost if you did these through another provider. Furthermore, to enable you to experience industry, there are a range of internships available through the university that will provide you with experience working in the field.

This web-page contains all of the course and opportunities, which are constantly being introduced and updated. New opportunities arise every week, therefore, it is your responsibility to check this often to ensure that you are getting the most out of your time with us. Sports Works: Health, Education and Coaching

Sport Works

Sport Works (Midlands) Ltd. is an award winning provider of sport health and educational activities meeting the needs of children and young adults with disability or SEN.

In conjunction with Sport England, we will be running a programme of mixed sport sessions targeting young adults in the 16 to 20 age range.

To deliver the sessions we need a lead and a number of support coaches. The lead coach must have at least a level 2 coaching badge in a mainstream sport, for assistant’s level one or equivalent is desired. In both cases an interest in or experience of disability sport is desirable.

Competitive rates of pay are offered for what will be a self-employed engagement.

Successful applicants will have to undergo enhanced DBS clearance checks.
