AMORES, a two year participatory action learning project, worked with ten teachers and over 400 students to learn how creativity and ICT could empower students and increase engagement with literature. It focused on improving literature learning across Europe, aiming to improve students’ engagement with literature through a participatory methodology based on interactive and collaborative use of ICT. The project is funded by the European Union.

Janet Hetherington, from the Creative Communities Unit, worked with partners in Greece, Croatia, the UK, Sweden, Denmark and Poland to deliver workshops looking at ways to increase students’ engagement with and knowledge of literature
Key findings included the crucial role of collaboration and interactivity – students were put at the centre of their own learning by making their own e-artifacts to share.

As part of the project we will be developing the digital literacies of both students and teachers through the creation of e-artefacts, critical reflection on their production and their use in social participation. The project is being delivered and funded with the support of the Lifelong Learning Programme of the European Union.
