We will be continuing to support emerging and growing social enterprises, create further networking and skill sharing opportunities and consolidating the work and partnerships that we have developed so far. We hope that by the middle of the year we will be at a point where the support for social enterprise is sustainable for the next few years.

Over the coming months, the project will see:

  • A series of workshops supporting emerging and developing social enterprises through exploring themes such as what is social enterprise, business planning, funding, legal structures, and marketing and pitching social enterprises.
  • Monthly Social Enterprise Peer Mentoring Hub sessions – a peer coaching and mentoring network, supporting social entrepreneurs
  • A social enterprise networking event delivered jointly with Social Enterprise UK
  • A social enterprise showcase event building on the research, contacts and partnerships established by Under one Roof.

Opportunities for students

The Social Enterprise Matters programme offers support to anyone who is interested in social enterprise, including students at Staffordshire University. Kate Rowe is the Social Enterprise Student Intern, based in the Students’ Union, who is supporting the student-side of the project. If you’re a Staffs student with an interest in social enterprise take a look at the Students’ Union’s Social Enterprise Matters webpage or get in touch with Kate.
