From 7th to 11th March teachers, trainers and youth workers from Italy, Turkey, Spain, Greece, and the UK gathered in Stoke-on-Trent for an Intensive Study Programme on Inclusivity and Diversity in the classroom.
Janet Hetherington from the CCU co delivered and produced the course with Dr Bobbie Fletcher and Dr Barbara Emadi-Coffin and the course covered subjects such as managing incidents of discrimination and bullying as well as understanding the school as a social institution.
The study programme forms part of the @Mindset project – Managing Social Relationships in Schools. The objective of the @Mindset project is to equip teachers, trainers and youth workers with the appropriate tools to manage inclusive classrooms, while better encouraging students to become active citizens and empathising adults.
The @Mindset project is co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union and aims to facilitate communication between European Countries.
