EYTS students fundraise for Peter Pan Children’s Centre

Recently our Level 6 Early Childhood  Studies with Early Years Teacher Status students fundraised for a local SEND Charity Early Years Provision ‘Peter Pan’. A fab time was had by all, enjoying tombola’s and football card prize draw, but more importantly they managed to raise £200!

This enabled them to support the setting and families, and also gain fantastic placement experience, here’s what the students thought of their visit:

“On arriving at the setting there was an immediate sense of a calm and organised environment. Throughout the rooms there were so many resources which had obviously been carefully selected to support the needs of the children including a sensory room and spacious garden. The routine of the day was made clear and this showed the knowledge and understanding of working with children with SEN. The staff were very welcoming and easy to talk to, offering advice and tips for working in different environments. It was also very apparent that the staff had bonded with all the children, enhancing the positive vibe that was felt throughout. It was refreshing to see such an enthusiastic and knowledgeable team who obviously had the children’s best interests and development at heart. We all appreciate the opportunity to observe and gain knowledge from our visit and we hope all the best for such a hard working and supportive setting.”

They were then able to express their gratitude at a hand over of funds to Peter Pan staff, showering a member of the team in money!
