Raising Voices Project – Activity sessions

The raising voices project will be putting on some activity sessions over the coming months from January 2022. These sessions will revolve around using poetry as a way of expressing yourself and telling stories of hardship, taking pictures to show visually the experiences that people are facing, and how to maintain motivation and wellness during times of difficulty.

 

Photography session

This online session will take place on 17 February 2022 at 13:00 and will draw on the experience of two local community photographers to share tips and tricks of taking pictures in community places.

Clay Storytelling Session 

This activity session takes place on Saturday 12th March 10 AM – 4 PM will give you the platform to chat and collaborate with others whilst creating a clay tile to share your experiences of and thoughts towards Hardship in the local area

Wellness session

Got a story to tell about the things that have helped you in times of hardship?  This session will take place on 8 March 2022 at 10:00 and will give you the platform to chat and collaborate with others to talk about what has helped you, as well as talking about the things that need to happen in the city in order to make things better for people’s wellness.

Poetry session

Got a story to tell about hardship? This session will take place on 9 March 2022 at 10:00 and will give you the platform to express your experiences and the things you see in your community in the form of poetry.

This session will focus on gaining the skills and tricks to writing poems that can then be used as part of the wider raising voices project, to amplify peoples experiences and stories to make a change to our place
