New Year V.S Chinese New Year

Happy Chinese New Year 2018. Is the Year of the Dog. 

Chinese New Year (CNY) was on 16th Feb and this year I was not able to go home and celebrate with my family but get to celebrate with my other Malaysian friends here. We had a great dinner on the Chinese New Year Eve and steamboat (not the steam boat you imagine now) on the first day of CNY.

It looks something like this. We named it steamboat or 火锅 (in mandarin).

 

And you now might wonder what’s the difference between New Year and Chinese New Year? I did a video to explain the differences between both new years and some traditionals about Chinese New Year..
