Dr. Anto Čartolovni

Anto Čartolovni finished his PhD studies in Bioethics at the Institute of Bioethics, Catholic University of Sacred Heart (Rome, Italy).  He published several publications on different topics and issues in Bioethics.  His research focus mostly on neuroethics, bioethics, theoretical bioethics, clinical bioethics, nursing philosophy and ethics, philosophy of technology and ethics of the emerging technologies.  At the Catholic University of Croatia (CUC), he teaches the spiritual care to nursing students not in a form of a single course as maybe in other Universities, but the relevant topics and knowledge related to the spiritual care spread through his several teaching subjects: Introduction in Theology, Nursing Philosophy and Ethics and Introduction in Bioethics.

 

Dr. Štefica Mikšić

Assistant Professor

Undergraduate and Graduate Study of Nursing, Faculty of Dental Medicine and Health, Josip Jurak Strossmayer University of Osijek, Croatia

Štefica Mikšić conducts classes in palliative healthcare, theory of healthcare and philosophy and ethics in healthcare.  Through these courses, Štefica talks about a holistic approach to the patient, with special emphasis on spirituality and spiritual care.  She is a member of the Croatian Nursing Council (CNC), Croatian Nurses Association (CNA) and Croatian Society for Hospice and Palliative Care (CSHPC).  She has been actively involved in numerous domestic and international conferences.  She has written several papers on palliative care and approach to a patient in need for palliative care and is also the author of chapters in several books on palliative care.  She am married, and a mother of three children.

 

Dr. Jelena Jakab, MD

Teaching and Research Assistant

Jelena Jakab was born on April 15, 1991.  She graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, Osijek, in 2015 and after that got an internship in University Hospital Osijek.  In April 2016, she was employed as an Assistant at the Department of Integrative medicine at the Faculty of Medicine Osijek.  In October 2017, she was employed as an Assistant at the Department of Pathophysiology at the Faculty of Dental Medicine and Health, Osijek.  In February 2017, she started a specialisation in Cardiology.  Jelena is a student of Postgraduate Doctoral Study of Biomedicine and Health at the Faculty of Medicine, Osijek.
