Dr. Andrea Pokorná, PhD

Andrea Pokorná currently works as an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Medicine at Masaryk University in Brno, Czech Republic (since 2004) and is also vice-dean for non-medical studies.  She started to work at Institute of Health Information and Statistic (IHIS) of the Czech Republic (since 2014) where she is focusing on the human resources in healthcare and support of quality of care (she is head of the department for quality of care evaluation).  She has more than 20 years experience of practice, policy research and consultancy in quality management and human resources as well as in wound management in nursing care.  Her previous experience includes working as a Staff Nurse at the Faculty hospital and teaching in different levels of nursing schools including University and Colleges where she was specifically interested in ethical issues and principles and spiritual care.  She was Principal Investigator of several projects focused on wound care and wound management and with special focus on quality of care and spirituality of palliative care in patient with wounds.  Currently, she is leading the national project focused on National Pressure ulcer registry development.
