Olga Riklikiene has worked in an eye care clinic as a nurse, and later as a nurse administrator for twenty years.  Currently she is a Nursing Professor, teaching quality of nursing care, research methodology and mentorship in nursing for nursing and midwifery students at Bachelors, Masters and PhD level.  Additionally, she is involved in research and education projects, works as Visiting Professor in Kazakhstan and serves as EC TAIEX expert for the harmonisation of nursing education in the EU and accessing countries.

In 2015, Olga Riklikiene was granted the research scholarship by Baltic-American Freedom foundation at Yale School of Nursing and Yale’s Interdisciplinary Centre for Bioethics, where she discovered the field of spirituality in healthcare, and she has been happily ensconced in this area of study ever since.  Olga leads a national SPIRITcare project on ‘Spirituality in Nursing: Spiritual wellbeing and spiritual needs of hospitalised oncology – mixed methods study’ (2017-2019), and international project among Baltic states (Lithuania and Estonia) and Germany “Interdisciplinary approach to enhance the quality of spiritual care for chronically ill patients and elderly” (2018).  Olga has published in areas of student nurses’ values and perceptions of spiritual care, validation of spiritual wellbeing and spiritual needs inventories.
