The Leverhulme Trust invites applications for its visiting professorships. These enable UK institutions to host eminent researchers from overseas, primarily to enhance the skills of academic staff or students at the host institution. Visiting professors may also wish to use the opportunity to further their own academic interests. Any field of research is eligible.
Applications must be made by a member of academic staff, based in a UK university or other higher education institution, who will be responsible for coordinating the visit. Priority is given to new or recent collaborative ventures
Funding covers maintenance, travel expenses and research costs and supports visits that last between three and 12 months. Travel within the UK, laboratory consumables and essential technical assistance may also be covered.

This call is repeated two times a year
The objective of these awards is to enable distinguished academics based overseas to spend between three and twelve months at a UK university, in order to enhance the skills of academic staff or students within the host institution. Any field of research is eligible.

- the academic standing and achievements of the professor in terms of research and teaching
- the ability of the host institution to benefit from the imported skills and expertise

A maintenance grant up to a level commensurate with the salary of a professor in the relevant field at the receiving institution may be requested. Economy travel costs to and from the UK and research costs will also be met.

The Nokia Foundation makes available grants and awards to support the scientific development of information and telecommunications technologies and to promote education of the sector in Finland. A multidisciplinary approach bridging other fields, for example social, behavioural, business and services sciences is encouraged.
Nokia Visiting Professor
Grants for Nokia Visiting Professors are given to distinguished foreign professors to work in Finland, or respectively to Finnish meritorious professors to work at a respected foreign university. The visit should last a minimum of two months. Visitors coming to Finland must typically participate in research work, give lectures and make corporate appearances.
