It’s summer! Which means it’s time for us all to relax and unwind from the past year of education! But don’t let the time go to waste, here’s some things you can do with your free time this summer;
Gain experience; the summer is a great time to gain some great experience relevant to your career choice. Even if you don’t know what you want to do, it’s the perfect time for you to try new things. Volunteering is a great way to gain experience and you’ll be doing it for a good cause!
Go somewhere, like anywhere; I guess if you want to travel and see different parts of the world, this is kinda the best time to do it! If you can’t do it this summer, why not save up so you can next summer?
Spend time with your family; they are the most important people in your life and being away from your family is rough, make sure you get to spend some time with them this summer!
Study for next year; although a rest is important, it might be worth studying some of the things you’ll be learning next year! if you know your modules, use the Staffordshire University Module descriptor to get an idea of what you’ll be covering and get ahead of the game; https://www.staffs.ac.uk/current/student/modules/
Start something new; you’re going to have a lot of spare time on your hands! why not try a few new things. There are loads of opportunities, so get stuck in…maybe you’ll find something you enjoy!
Get a job; if you’re one of those people who enjoys having something to always occupy your time, it might be a good idea to look for a summer job. Have a look around your local area to see if there are any vacancies, it’s constructive and you earn money; a win win.
Relax and enjoy yourself; regardless of what you do this summer, make sure you have time to chill out. Education, especially at assessment time is a very stressful place. Now that it’s over for another year, it’s time to enjoy yourself!
