Being a Radio Production student I knew I would be signing up for the student radio station, One Media Group (OMG). Since week one I have been a part of the radio station and I have been doing a show for about 6-ish weeks (every Thursday 3-4pm!). As part of the station you become part of the amazing team that has been created by this years management. On Friday the 13th for Children in Need, OMG had arranged a social as part of the Friday night refresh that happens in the Verve on a weekly basis.
So on Friday night my wonderful radio production class and my flat at Clarice Cliff headed down to the Verve to support OMG and Children In Need. The Verve is a great student run venue and is a good place to have a cheap night out whilst supporting the university. The night was DJ’d by OMG’s very own Simon Partridge who did an incredible job and playing amazing music that resorted in most of the OMG team singing S Club 7’s Reach For The Stars, loudly with the dance moves (a real sight to be seen!)
Overall it was a fun night for a very good cause and a celebration of all the hard work that OMG had put into the 48 hour live broadcast for Children in Need. In total the station raised £415 for the charity which was an incredible achievement for the management team that put in so much hard work and everyone involved with a show over the 48 hour broadcast!
