Stoke-On-Trent to a Film Fan

As a massive film fan, Stoke-On-Trent is a fantastic place to be. The area is bubbling over with film related places and things to do. For example:

The Cinema and theatre:

Stoke is home to its’ very own Film Theatre, right on campus! They screen films there most nights and it ranges from blockbuster to indie! They have a range of genres too, from musicals like the Greatest Showman to satirical thrillers like Ingrid Goes West.

As well as this there is a Cineworld up in the complex in Hanley so you can go catch your favourites on even bigger screens. The complex even contains a bunch of options for food too

The filming locations:

Additionally, Stoke-On-Trent has been a set for many films. The old bus station in Hanley is where they shot Girl with all the gifts, scenes for Jawbone with Ray Winstone were shot in Spode and Burslem has been home to several features, such as Molly’s Crows.

Also, due to its quantity of film students and enthusiasts, the university is always involved in some shoots going on.

The Events:

Moreover, there is a constant stream of events here in Stoke all year round. For example, Noise Floor film festival hosts some of the best music and short films from around the world right here. You can even enter a film you’ve made!

The university even hosts Stoke-Con-Trent, right in the LRV! The local Comic Con is crammed with films, memorabilia and costumes, so head on down and see your favourite films realised through cosplay and other arts!

So, no matter the time or season, Stoke-On-Trent is the place to be for any fans of film!
