Usually most students enjoy having three to four weeks off over the Christmas and New Year period, and go home.
With this being my last ‘Christmas holiday’ as a student I was looking forward to heading home and catching up with all of my friends from home.
However I then went and got a job, so I was only around for one or two days at a time to see my friends and family.
As students I don’t think that we appreciate the time that we do have to (usually) get drunk and generally do nothing over the Christmas period and ignore the impending exams.
I did go home and see my family at Christmas, and it was great to spend time with them despite rushing off to get back to work.
I managed to fit in a trip with my Mum to Harry Potter World, and it was a brilliant way to end the year, especially as my mum hadn’t been there before and she got excited to see everything.
Seeing all my friends who I hadn’t seen in about a year was brilliant; going to a house party in pyjamas turned out to be the perfect New Years Eve.
Celebrating my other friends 21st was a great way to start the new year, with a fancy dress theme of Las Vegas and taking a lot of pictures as a ‘tacky tourist’ was very fun.
Spending time with friends and family is the best way to celebrate Christmas and New Year, especially as it could be a lot more difficult to catch up once we all graduate!
