Postgraduate Studies

The Centre of Archaeology offers a suite of postgraduate courses in a range of archaeological topics. Our students benefit from our internationally recognised research and our focus on archaeological field skills. All of our courses are taught at Staffordshire University in Stoke-on-Trent and students studying with us have the opportunity to travel around the world to learn new skills and contribute to world-class research.

We offer an exciting suite of Masters courses. Our MSc/MA Forensic Archaeology and Genocide Investigation taught program offers the opportunity to learn about the evidence that genocide and mass violence leaves behind as well as the cutting-edge forensic techniques used to locate and record it. On campus and Distance Learning are available, allowing you to engage with this important area of study from wherever you are in the world.

We also offer specialist pathways on the MSc Applied Research degree in Forensic Archaeology, Archaeological Practice, and Conflict and Genocide Archaeology.

We also have a vibrant postgraduate community of PhD students and we consider PhD applications on a wide variety of topics, ranging from the Medieval period to present day. Because we are an interdisciplinary team, we particularly welcome students looking to push the boundaries of archaeological theory and practice.
