Dr Caroline Sturdy Colls recently presented at the Competing Memories conference in Amsterdam and Westerbork in The Netherlands.
She spoke about her research in the area of Holocaust archaeology and outlined many of the challenges faced by archaeologists seeking to investigate sites from this period.
Dr Sturdy Colls also gave an official response to the keynote address of Wojciech Mazurek and Yoram Haimi, which outlined their work at the Sobibor death camp. This was followed by a roundtable discussion around the benefits and challenges of applying archaeological methods to the investigation of conflict.
